BEARS RANCH

Bears Ranch, owned by the Tomlinson family, is located in the stunning mountain landscape of Southwest Colorado, near Haviland Lake and Chris Park off HWY 550. The ranch offers various venues for locals and visitors, while preserving the area's natural and historic beauty.

Surrounded by the Hermosa cliffs, Bears Ranch is a hub for outdoor activities, including horseback riding and sleigh rides. Future plans include eight mini-cabins inspired by Durango’s mining camps, offering guests Alpine mountain views, star-gazing, and access to Lake Haviland for fishing, canoeing, and paddleboarding. Hiking and biking trails follow the historic Rico to Rockwood Animas toll road.

A 72’x54’ barn/event center/museum will be built on-site, showcasing the Tomlinson family's WWII collection. The two-story facility will honor America's heroes, with a tropical tiki bar offering panoramic views of the property and San Juan mountains, along with lunch and dinner options.
